Strawberry Jam

Today I'm sharing my favorite strawberry jam.

As a little girl my grandma would pick me up bright and early to head to the berry patch.
We'd pick quarts and quarts of berries, and then sometimes my brother and I would sell them to make a little money or we'd make jam or pie.

I don't ever eat jam unless it's homemade freezer jam.
My grandma's have definitely spoiled me because I really don't like jams, soups or pies that aren't homemade.

This is a super simple recipe that anyone can make,
I simply follow the recipe on the Sure Jell box.
I use the Quick and Easy Freezer Jam recipe.
It doesn't take more than 30 minutes including cutting the berries.

Strawberry Jam

Items Needed:
1 Quart Strawberries
4 Cups Sugar
3/4 C. Water
1 Package Sure Jell
Jars for storage

1. Measure out one quart of berries.

2. Prepare-wash and dry your jars and lids.

3. Wash and dry your berries.
De-stem and cut the berries in half.
Place in a blender.

4. Blend the berries until you have just little pieces remaining.
I love love love our Ninja blender
If you don't have one, you need one.
It's so easy to use!
You should have 2 cups of blended berries.
Pour the berries into a larger bowl.

5. Add in 4 cups of sugar.

6. Let stand for 10 minutes
Mixing intermittently.

7. Have your Sure Jell and 3/4 C. of water ready.

7. Mix the Sure Jell and water in a saucepan.
Boil one minute.

8. Add Sure Jell mixture to berries.
Mix together.
Dip into jars.

 9. Place lids on jars.
Let the jars sit for 24 hours.
Freeze or put into the refrigerator.

In the summers I enjoy a nice slice of wheat bread with strawberry jam on top!
