Friday Favorites: Oh Yuk, Tree Festival, Classroom Debate

Happy Friday!
This week was a short one because we got Monday off for the start of deer season, but somehow short weeks always seem much longer than they really are.
I definitely enjoyed lounging around at home on Monday, but I'm ready for another weekend, too bad this one isn't a 5 day weekend too! ;)
As always, I'm linking up with ErikaNarci and Andrea
We're sharing our favorites from the week.
Grab their graphic and linkup with your favorites from the week, too.

Oh Yuk

When we redid our house Alex decided we needed a bathtub with jets.
I'm not a fan of taking a bath, so I really wasn't a fan of that idea.

I've used the jets a couple of times, but I still felt like they were containing so much dirt and gunk.
I wasn't sure how to get it out until I read about Oh Yuk.

This stuff is made specifically for jets.
It's so simple to use.
You fill the tub with water (above the jets), pour in some Oh Yuk solution, turn on the jets for 15 minutes and then wipe out the tub.

The nastiness that transpires over those 15 minutes is amazing!
After that I realized that I can pop the jets off and clean them out.
Now, I feel like our tub is so much more sanitary, which makes me a happy camper!

Tree Festival

I went to our local tree festival with my mom a couple of weekends ago.
They have around 100 trees all decorated in different themes.
This tree caught my eye.
It was so unique!

Rockefeller Tree Festival

We kicked off some holiday cheer by watching the lighting of the Rockefeller tree on Wednesday night.

Also adding to the Christmas cheer is some peppermint mocha!
I'm not much into the coffee trend, but I love some fake coffee tasting drinks during the holidays!

Classroom Debate

My gifted kids love to debate.
It's great practice for them on being able to read credible information, choose their side and create their arguments for that side.

We recently debated over athletes kneeling during the national anthem.
These kids did so well!
Here's a little glance at what my spot looked like
NewsELA articles, rubrics and the debate format.

Reading Train

I feel like I'm on some sort of reading train.
I've been knocking out the books recently.

My life has been spent in this exact spot with this view

and this view.

It's Thursday night as I'm typing this, and as soon as I finish this post and grab the laundry out of the dryer, I'm going back to that exact spot to hopefully finish another book before November ends!

Have a great weekend!
I hope it's filled with great books, hot chocolate and some Christmas cheer!

  1. I have a handful of books on my shelf from the library that I want to read but life keeps getting in the way! I'm hoping to get in that spot at some point today and put a good dent into It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. Happy Weekend!!

  2. I bet cleaning those jets is such a satisfying thing - albeit a little gross!
